ABOUT THE COMMISSIONERATE
The Central GST & Central Excise Commissionerate, Daman has been created with the implementation of GST by merging the erstwhile Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax Commissionerate, Silvassa and the erstwhile Central Excise, Customs
and Service Tax Commissionerate, Daman. At present, the Jurisdiction of Central GST & Central Excise, Daman Commissionerate extends to the union territories of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. Our Commissionerate is one of
the eight Commissionerates under the Central Goods and Service Tax, Vadodara Zone. The Commissionerate is headed by the Commissioner and deals with the administration of GST and Central Excise duty in the Union Territories of Daman
& Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
The Commissionerate having its Head Quarter situated in Vapi (Gujarat), is further comprises 10 Divisions (5 each in Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Union Territory of Daman & Diu). Each Division is headed by a Deputy /
Assistant Commissioner and further has 5 Range Offices under it. In total, there are 50 Range Offices, 25 in UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and 25 in UT of Daman & Diu of which 24 are in Daman and 1 in Diu.
The Commissionerate covers the industrial area that houses different kinds of industries. The major industries are Yarn, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil & Petroleum, and Plastics etc. Daman is a very promising Commissionerate with respect
to the task of revenue mobilization for national exchequer. The expansion of this industrial hub is still in progress and hence its promising nature is very futuristic. Thus, the Commissionerate not only earn significant revenue
for the zone but also facilitates the industrial growth of the region.
